its incomparable ruins evoking our collective
pasts. A unique archaeological historical and
biblical opportunity to experience the scale
and layout of an ancient metropolis with its
amazing technological and architectural sophistication.

Highlights - mostly dating to the Roman Imperial
Period - the massive theater still used for
festivals today, the exquisite Temple of Hadrian,
the celebrated Library of Celsus, and a dramatic
colonnaded avenue the Arcadian Way. Artifacts
covering the vast span of occupation in the
area are displayed in the distinguished Ephesus
Museum in near - by Selcuk, where the Basilica
of St. John and the early Isa Bey Mosque can
also be seen. Our last stop will be the House
of Virgin Mary. This house is believed to be
the Virgin Mary's last abode after St. John
brought her with him from Jerusalem. On August
18, 1961 , Pope John XXIII proclaimed the spot
to be sacred. You will not want to miss a chance
to collect Holy Water from the Sacred Spring
